Diamond Certificates

Diamond Certificates

What is a diamond certificate?

A diamond certificate, also known as a diamond report, is issued by an accredited independent gemological laboratory where diamonds have undergone the strictest quality assessment.

In addition to the diamond's measurements, a certificate includes grades for the diamond's colour, clarity, cut and carat weight. These are also known as the "4C's" (see our "Diamonds and the 4C's" guide). All of Bicknells diamonds are graded by the most respected and renowned diamond grading laboratories in the world.  Having our diamonds graded by these laboratories gives you absolute reassurance of the diamond's quality. We use the following;

GIA

(Gemological Institute of America) whose report is considered the benchmark to which all others are compared.

HRD

(Hoge Raad voor Diamant) who's certificate represents the hallmark of authentic European quality and allows any consumer to purchase diamonds or jewellery in full confidence.

IGI

(International Gemological Institute) who certificate is a standard of excellence for industry professionals and consumers around the globe.

Why buy diamonds from us?

We have our own highly qualified diamond grader, Adam Bicknell, who is a Certified Diamond Grader of the 'HRD' (Diamond High Council - Hoge Raad voor Diamant) and a Polished Diamond Grader of the IGI (International Gemological Institute). His professional opinion is highly regarded and respected giving you, the customer, a welcoming reassurance before making your purchase.
